Start from here on one of the various hiking routes. Experienced hikers will get their money's worth on the Mittenwald via ferrata, while the Passamani panorama trail, on the other hand, is also ideal for newcomers. Here, exotic plants meet wonderfully fragrant roses, impressive cacti meet medicinal and spice plants. The Botanical Garden in Augsburg is an excursion destination in Bavaria that guarantees pure nature and offers a trip into the countryside in the truest sense of the word. The special thing about it: the multitude of plants from all over the world makes you feel like you're in another country - and right in the middle of Bavaria. A highlight of the Botanical Garden is the Japanese Garden, where the elements of stone, water and plants are harmoniously combined. Take a deep breath and really switch off in the floral oasis of calm.

This hike definitely makes the hearts of nature lovers beat faster: the route from Kaufbeuren to Bad Wörishofen is stage two of the "Allgäu Hiking Trilogy", also known as the Wiesengänger Route. The 24-kilometre walk takes you across meadows and through forests, past the historic Irsee Monastery. The hike ends in the very place where Sebastian Kneipp invented his revolutionary Kneipp therapies: in Bad Wörishofen you can relax your feet in natural Kneipp tread pools after the hike. You can also find out about Kneipp's teachings in detail, for example in the local Kneipp Museum. A perfect end to an excursion right through the Allgäu Alps.
Hikes with an absolute relaxation factor - thanks to animal companions who radiate an infectious calm. Alpacas are known for their gentle character and are also the perfect hiking companions. In the Zugspitzdorf in Grainau, very close to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, you can go hiking with the fluffy llamas with a view of imposing mountain ranges. In addition to alpacas, donkeys are also considered the perfect companions for extensive walks in nature: get to know the long ears intensively in Starnberg, for example - the donkeys' empathy is sure to make you slow down quickly.
