Rather than heading to the gym, more and more people are opting to get fit on a bouldering wall. Dangling off a wall by your hands and feet at Monkey Cage in Aschaffenburg is a workout for your whole body. The indoor climbing wall has an area of 1,150 square metres and a bouldering area of 950 square metres, and features routes to challenge any climber, regardless of their physical ability or level. The bouldering wall is set up as a parcours and has around 180 different routes. The routes are changed on a regular basis, meaning that there are always new challenges for beginners and for more advanced and expert climbers. If you need to refuel, "Monkey Bar" has a range of food, including pizza and fried vegetable patties with apple sauce. To relax your tired muscles, you can unwind in the sauna or in the beer garden. And as a counterbalance to your climbing workout, you can also do yoga or slacklining. Monkey Cage is around a two-and-a-half-kilometre walk from Aschaffenburg station via the Nordring road.
