As soon as you enter through the gate of the Handwerkerhof (artisan yard), the thick, sandstone walls absorb the noise of the city. Half-timbered houses stand in rows, the scent of roasted meats wafts through the air – the famous Nürnberger Rostbratwürste (Nuremberg roast sausages). At the Bratwurstglöcklein restaurant, reasonably-priced food is served on tin plates in the shape of bells, which is a throwback to historical times.
