There is a long tradition of mining in the Allgäu. And for this reason an entire museum village has been dedicated to the "Erzgruben" (ore mines) in Burgberg. The geology, blacksmith and mining huts bring the past back to life. And you'll really see how hard life as a miner could be on the two-and-a-half-hour tour to the "Andreas Tagebau" (opencast mine) and "Annagrube" and "Theresiengrube" mines.
