Trausnitz Castle towers over Landshut old town – lordly and impenetrable. And it's impressive on the inside as well. The walkways in the courtyard, the painted scenes from the Commedia dell'arte and the tastefully decorated chambers are what give the medieval ancestral seat of the Wittelsbachs its character. Trausnitz has also been a film location for decades. In 1953, the Grimm's fairytale film "The Golden Goose" was filmed here. And in 2008, Till Schweiger chose the location for his (unfortunately rather bad) film "1½ Knights – In Search of the Ravishing Princess Herzelinde".
