A minibreak at the KissSalis spa

This spa resort offers visitors an all-inclusive pampering programme: a soothing soak in the warm waters from the thermal Schönborn spring, a fantastic sauna and a range of massage options.

7,000 m2 of relaxation: the KissSalis spa was designed to make you feel better than you every thought possible, physically and mentally.

To destination

Bad Kissingen is located at the edge of the Naturpark Bayerische Rhön (Bavarian Rhön Nature Park) and is one of the most important spa towns in Europe. Thanks to its mineral springs and therapeutic baths, it has been drawing in tourists and anyone seeking some relaxation to the little Lower Franconian town for over a century. The KissSalis thermal bath is stunning to look at, as well as a magnet for visitors, featuring walls made of glass, halls bathed in light, and an outside area with a panoramic view. In addition to various sauna facilities, there is also a Turkish bath and a wellness pavilion which offers peat therapy, cosmetic treatments and massages. Sport fans can also feel at home here: you can work up a sweat with a view of the pools in the thermal spa’s own fitness studio. Even getting to the facility is stress free, as The thermal bath is only about a 15-minute walk from the station.

Ride the Zugspitzbahn rack railway up Germany's highest mountain

Every Bavarian has to have had a ride on the Zugspitzbahn at least once in their life. It is one of four rack railways in Germany and carries tourists to the top of Germany's highest mountain.

To destination

Although Garmisch-Partenkirchen is not a traditional spa town destination, it is home to some renowned clinics and rehabilitation establishments. The Bad Kohlgrub spa town, which features the highest peat bath in Germany, is only an hour away with the Regionalbahn train service. That being said, a special type of train experience awaits you in Garmisch-Partenkirchen – the Zugspitzbahn. It is one of only four rack railways in Germany, and has reliably transported tourists up Germany’s highest mountain – from altitudes of 705 to 2588 metres – since 1930. On the journey up, you can enjoy the view of the crystal-clear Eibsee lake and experience the power with which the little train makes its way up the steep mountain. The journey starts right behind Garmisch-Partenkirchen station.

The Obermain Therme thermal bath: Bavaria’s warmest and strongest thermal brine

At the Obermain Therme thermal bath in Bad Staffelstein, Bavaria’s strongest thermal brine provides soothing warmth and an authentic ocean-like feeling.

To destination

There are many good reasons for visiting Bad Staffelstein in Upper Franconia, for example, the Staffelberg mountain, the Banz Abbey and the Basilica of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. That being said, the Obermain Therme thermal baths are worth a trip all on their own. Bavaria’s strongest thermal brine provides soothing warmth and a real ocean-like feeling. The high salt content in the water means you float and can enjoy the feeling of weightlessness. The Bad Staffelstein brine can help to stabilise blood pressure, strengthen the heart and circulatory system, and improve joint, muscle and breathing problems. Allow yourself to be pampered with masks and thermal salt massages and do something good for your skin in the wellness and beauty area. Obermain Therme thermal bath is only about a three-minute walk from Bad Staffelstein station.
