Be it mountaineering, kite flying, paragliding or skiing. It’s all possible in the Ammergau Alps. The famous Neuschwanstein castle is located at the foot of the Tegelberg mountain. But there's plenty to see at the top, too. The Tegelbergbahn cable car will take you to the summit and to the Tegelberghaus cabin, which was a former royal Bavarian hunting lodge belonging to Maximilian II. The nearly 800-metre-long summer toboggan run is located by the valley station. Arrive in Füssen by train, then take the bus towards Schwangau to the Tegelbergbahn cable car. There is a discount for train ticket holders here as well.
