St. Emmeram Palace in Regensburg is popular with film makers. It's where the German film director Marcus H. Rosenmüller filmed the Vatican scenes from his comedy "Wer's glaubt, wird selig" (a German turn of phrase meaning "A likely story!").

St. Emmeram Palace in Regensburg, seat of the Thurn und Taxis family, is a popular location for film makers. It's where German film director Marcus H. Rosenmüller filmed the Vatican scenes from his comedy "Wer's glaubt, wird selig" (a German turn of phrase meaning "A likely story!"); and actor David Garrett starred in "The Devil's Violinist". Scenes from "The Famous Five 2" were also filmed in this vast mansion, which has more rooms than Buckingham Palace! The palace is situated on the edge of Regensburg old town and it is possible to visit some of its rooms and gardens on a guided tour. Sites that are well worth seeing include the exotic winter garden, the magnificent ballroom, the treasure chamber, the carriage museum and the cloisters of the former St. Emmeram abbey.
