From 21 November to 23 December 2024, the Landshut Christmas market on the Ringelstecherwiese in the old town invites you to take a contemplative stroll and enjoy. With traditional treats such as mulled wine, gingerbread, hot chestnuts and sausages, the market offers the perfect mix of winter delicacies and a cosy Christmas atmosphere - all with free admission.

Christmas magic at the Landshut Christmas market

As every year, visitors to the Landshut Christmas market can look forward to a special attraction: the Christmas wheel, a large Ferris wheel with closed gondolas that shines like a giant snowflake at the foot of the market. From here, visitors can enjoy a magnificent view of the festively decorated Old Town and Trausnitz Castle - an unforgettable experience for young and old alike.

Winter sports fans also get their money's worth. On the 200 m² synthetic ice rink, visitors can try their hand at ice skating or enjoy a round of curling. Equipment can be hired directly on site, and curling slots can be reserved in advance for socialising.

A glowing attraction: the XXL Christmas tree ball

Another highlight is the spectacular XXL Christmas tree ball in front of the town hall. With a height of five metres and an impressive 22,000 LEDs, it is not only an extraordinary photo motif, but also an experience to walk through. The Christmas tree ball is illuminated daily from 4:30 pm to 1:00 am and will remain as a festive decoration in the old town until 6 January 2025.

The Landshut Nativity Scene Trail

The Landshut Christmas market is also a must for nativity scene lovers. From 29 November 2024 to 6 January 2025, the Landshut Nativity Scene Trail invites you to take a tour of traditional and international nativity scene art. The main exhibition takes place in the cloister of Seligenthal Monastery, where you can admire artistically designed nativity scenes from all over the world. A life-size traditional Bavarian nativity scene in front of the town hall and other international nativity scenes in the Sparkasse entrance hall round off the programme.

The main exhibition in Seligenthal Monastery is open from Monday to Saturday from 13:00 to 17:00 and on Sundays from 10:30 to 17:00. On 31 December, the doors are open from 10:00 to 12:00 for a special end to the year, while Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are closed.

Entertainment on the Christmas stage

Contemplative and humorous entertainment awaits you on Advent Saturdays on the WTC Christmas stage (Landshut Business and Tourism Club) in the Old Town. A special highlight is the family theatre "Ox and Donkey", which will be performed on 30 November and the following three Saturdays at 4:30 pm. The Christmas nativity play will bring a smile to the faces of young and old alike and get everyone in the mood for Christmas.
