The Romantic Christmas Market at Thurn and Taxis Castle in Regensburg

A Christmas market like in a fairy tale

A magical Christmas world shines in front of the impressive castle façade of St. Emmeram, where candles, torches and lanterns bathe the Romantic Christmas Market in the inner courtyard in an atmospheric light. Lovingly designed wooden huts offer artistic handicrafts and regional delicacies, while the historic backdrop creates a unique Advent atmosphere. The festively illuminated castle park is open for walks at the weekends and invites you to enjoy the wintry atmosphere.

Culinary highlights at the Regensburg Christmas market

From hearty classics such as wild boar on a spit to fine vegetarian and vegan specialities, the Christmas market offers a wide range of delicacies. There is also an exceptional selection of mulled wines such as the "Fürstenkelch" or the non-alcoholic "Prinzentrunk". New this year is the "Glanz & Gloria" wine arbour, a cosy retreat for wine lovers who want to enjoy fine wines in a stylish ambience.

Christmas market with children's programme: fun for the little ones

The children's enchanted forest is a real paradise for younger guests. Historic rides such as a steam locomotive and a Ferris wheel, a petting zoo with goats and alpacas as well as the entertaining Punch and Judy show will make children's eyes light up. Creative minds can design their own works of art in the mosaic workshop while you relax with a mulled wine.

Culture and tradition at the castle Christmas market

Musical and traditional highlights make the market unique: the Regensburger Domspatzen create a festive atmosphere with their performances, and the impressive Perchtenlauf of the "Oberpfälzer Schlossteufel" combines Bavarian customs with mystical flair. Watch the talented artisans at work - from potters to goldsmiths, there is something for everyone.
