Ochsenfurt Adventsgässle: Christmas in the old town

On the third weekend of Advent, Ochsenfurt’s historic old town is transformed into a sea of festive lights. Known as the Adventsgässle, this distinctive Christmas market spreads across the narrow alleyways, squares and courtyards around the town hall.

Rather than being limited to traditional market stalls, arts and crafts, regional products and Christmas gifts can be discovered in a variety of locations. Among the half-timbered houses and historic walls, the air is filled with the aromas of Franconian specialities, festive pastries and hot drinks.

Arts, crafts and culture at Ochsenfurt’s Adventsgässle

Many of the products on offer are handmade or come from the surrounding region. The selection ranges from items made of wood, fabric, glass and ceramics to jewellery, decorations and culinary gifts.

Travelling to Ochsenfurt Christmas market by rail

Travel by rail to Ochsenfurt station. From there, it takes around ten minutes to walk to the old town and the Adventsgässle around the town hall.
