From Bamberg through the Franconian Forest to Ludwigsstadt: If you're travelling from Bamberg towards Thuringia, you'll pass through Upper Franconia in all its diversity. First, the route winds through the "Gottesgarten" region in the upper Main valley, until it reaches Lichtenfels. Once you go past Kronach, the train passes through slopes densely covered in spruce trees, leading onwards to Ludwigsstadt.
