Blossoming dreams on the outskirts of Munich

Heimstetten can be easily reached with the Munich S-Bahn line S 2. It is about a seven-minute walk from the station to the Heimstetten entrance to the State Garden Show. Alternatively, bus routes 262 and 263 run from the station to the site.

Tip: Public transport users who can show a ticket valid for the day of their visit will receive a 1 euro discount on the day ticket when purchasing it at the ticket office.

From 15 May to 6 October, the Bavarian State Garden Show 2024 invites its guests to the grounds between Kirchheim and Heimstetten. Highlights of the show are the many artistically designed flowerbeds with seasonally changing planting. Eleven themed gardens also provide inspiration for garden design, environmental protection and more. A view of the ten-hectare site - and in good weather - as far as the Alps can be seen from the nine-metre-high park pulpit. The State Garden Show is divided into five spheres: garden, forest, meadow, water and wilderness. Each area offers different experiences of nature. Play and fitness areas as well as cafés and restaurants have been harmoniously embedded in the landscaped areas. The centrepiece of the State Garden Show, in the water sphere, is the newly created park lake with sunbathing lawn and shore balconies south of the new Kirchheim town hall.

The ticket offices (there are more entrances) are located in Kirchheim at Hauptstraße 48 and in Heimstetten at Hausener Holzweg 14a.

After the walk through the garden show grounds, you can either take the 262 bus back from the Parkallee stop in Kirchheim or walk seven minutes to Heimstetten S-Bahn station.
