You cycle out of town along the banks of the Isar. The reservoir and Altheim hydroelectric power station are flanked by a fish ladder. It uses a luring current to guide the migratory fish and allows them to continue their migration unharmed.

The bank is lined with beautiful deciduous woodland. A detour to the Gretlmühle mill is worthwhile if you want to refresh yourself with a quick dip in the lake. Further ahead, you can see the facilities of the inactive nuclear power plant on the opposite bank of the Isar. In Niederaichbach, a small spa treatment awaits you at the Kneipp facility.

Kneipp facility Niederaichbach

In the old village, near the Nikolai church in Niederaichbach, there is a free "spa treatment" for everyone directly in the clear Aichbach stream. From the bank, the railing in the stream helps you to safely concentrate on the healthy water treading. The Kneipp facility has several information boards to guide you through the correct way to Kneipp. Visitors can strengthen their immune system in the arm bath and with the refreshing foot baths. As the effects only really unfold in peace and quiet, seating is provided in the shade.

From Niederaichbach you cycle further east along the banks of the Isar. Old trees line the banks and provide shade. Leave Gummering and Loiching on your right. At Teisbach, the river opens up to the Dingolfing reservoir.
In Dingolfing, you can take a look at the important and beautiful parish church of St John from the Steinweg.

Ducal Castle Dingolfing

Herzogsburg Dingolfing is a former administrative building of the dukes of the Landshut duchy. The complex consists of three buildings: the ducal castle itself, the Pfleghof and the granary. They were built between 1410 and 1477. Today, the ducal castle is one of the most beautiful and important Gothic secular buildings in Lower Bavaria.
The Dingolfing Museum is housed in all three buildings. The eventful and rich history of the town and its surroundings is brought to life by means of numerous archaeological finds and contemporary artefacts. The exhibition spans the period from the Neolithic Age to the present day.
