Sweeping views of the wine country, a fortified church in every village and numerous wine taverns! The Franconian wine country is incredibly diverse. The mountains and hills, although not particularly high, still give us views of the original Franconian world of wine enjoyment. A variety of paths lead through the historic town centres with their fortified churches and wine taverns.
The VGN leisure line Bocksbeutel-Express 109 connects the individual wine villages on its route from Iphofen to Uffenheim. This means that individual sections of the tour can be travelled by bus - and there is plenty of time to stop off, take a look and enjoy.
The Bocksbeutel-Express 109 runs from Iphofen via Mönchsondheim, Weigenheim, Seinsheim, Bullenheim, to Uffenheim and back: continuously from 1 May to 1 November, on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Of course, experienced hikers can do the 17 kilometres in one go, but there is so much to see that it is worth splitting the tour up, especially if you don't want to hike such long distances in one go.
This tour is a "VGN leisure tip" and was created in co-operation with the Greater Nuremberg Transport Association.

From Iphofen railway station, first walk under the tracks to the "Alte Reichsstraße". There you walk to the right, following the markings "Black church on yellow background". At the bend to the right, go straight ahead onto a beautiful grassy path and follow the route to a small vineyard.
You will pass two hunting stands and come across an unexpectedly marvellous view at a double junction! Continue straight on in the direction of Mönchsondheim down into the Breitbach valley, where you will come to the Vogtsmühle after approx. 2 kilometres.
