Relaxing in Bavaria's thermal baths

From bathing in a thermal spring to chilling out in the sauna, Bavaria has over 40 thermal baths where you can relax.

When it comes to relaxation, the spas and thermal baths of Bavaria are the place to go. Alongside bathing in spring water, visitors to these oases of calm can also enjoy saunas and pamper themselves with a wide range of massages, gymnastics courses and more.

Therme Erding

The town of Erding in southern Bavaria is home to the largest spa in the world. Spread out over eighteen and a half hectares, visitors can enjoy an extensive wellness and spa area. Divided into four zones covering an infusion sauna, an action sauna, a Roman sauna and a steam bath, guests can relax in the warmth in over 30 different ways. Also helping you to relax is a wide variety of health, massage and beauty treatments. The Therme Erding is also Europe's largest water park. With 27 slides at three different difficulty levels, a wave pool with metre-high waves, and pools with current channels or whirlpools, there is plenty of fun and excitement for everyone. Best of all, the Therme Erding offers something for all ages, from toddlers and children to teenagers and adults.

Obermain Therme in Bad Staffelstein

If you are looking for some peaceful relaxation, why not visit the spa at Obermain in Bad Staffelstein. With a total of 25 indoor and outdoor pools, including energy pools, steam baths and whirlpools, you're guaranteed to find an oasis of wellness. Among the highlights are Bavaria's strongest geothermal brine and a natural bathing pool. In the panoramic quiet room, guests can gaze out over the idyllic outdoor area with its shady trees.

Therme Bad Wörishofen

At the spa in Bad Wörishofen, the typical alpine landscape of the Allgäu is replaced with palm trees and sapphire-blue water, creating an almost Caribbean atmosphere. The spa offers countless health and thermal pools under its gigantic glass roof, along with steam baths and a family bath with slides and water playground. To make you truly feel like you are on holiday, the outdoor area features a white sandy beach with deckchairs.

KissSalis Therme in Bad Kissingen

Franconia is also home to some impressive spas. With its network of five German spas, the KissSalis Therme in Bad Kissingen made it into the top three at the World Spa Awards in 2018. And for good reason! Alongside a wide variety of wellness, sauna and bathing options, KissSalis also focuses on exercise. The extensive FitnessArena allows exercise fans to train their strength and stamina while enjoying the views of the spa. Offering all the gym equipment you would expect alongside a comprehensive range of courses including yoga, aqua fitness and trampolining, there's sure to be something for everyone.
